Dietary & allergen information
How the menu is marked, and how we make sure your meal is right for you.
Please tell your server about any allergy before ordering. Quanjude Ottawa’s menu marks dishes that contain nuts (peanut or sesame), dishes that are spicy and vegetable dishes. For gluten-free, vegan or other dietary needs, ask your server and we will check with the kitchen.
How the menu is marked
The same symbols appear on the printed menu and on our online menu.
Nuts and sesame
Dishes carrying the nut symbol. Sesame oil and peanut-based ingredients are used in some sauces, and the sweet bean sauce served with the duck contains sesame oil. Some sauces that contain sesame oil or peanut ingredients can be served separately from the main dish — please confirm the arrangement with our staff when you order. Serving a sauce separately does not make a dish allergen-free. If you have a nut or sesame allergy, please speak with us before ordering.
Spicy dishes
Marked with a chili. Three chilies means very spicy. Most of the menu — including the Peking duck — is not spicy.
